Why we wove the spell
Glove Genie was born to transform tedious tasks into perfect patterns with just one flick of the wand.
Our Story
It all started with a pair of gloves. As a child in Japan, I dreamed of knitting gloves from the yarns I loved, but the patterns never existed. Later, as a professional designer, I could create my own, but hours were lost recalculating stitches and wrestling with spreadsheets. As a lifelong glove knitter, I knew there had to be a better way. So I built the tool I always wished for.
Our Purpose
Stitch Sorcerer is more than tools. It’s a movement to help people reclaim creativity, spend less time calculating, and more time making.

It started with a pair of gloves.
From a young age I was mesmerised by glove knitting.
A trip to the local yarn shop in Japan always filled me with dreams — I longed to knit gloves in the yarns I loved.
When I finally could knit well enough to make a pair of gloves, there was never a pattern for the yarn I had chosen. Every time, I had to adjust stitches, and it was never truly custom.
Later, as a professional knitter designing for international publications, I could create my own custom patterns but I often found myself knee-deep in spreadsheets, recalculating every stitch each time I worked on a different yarn. To make a custom glove from a single ball of yarn I adored, I would lose hours to math instead of making.
Creating a custom glove pattern is tedious: wrestling with numbers, wrangling spreadsheets, and hopping between different tools just to produce something reliable.
As a lifelong glove knitter and proud science geek, I knew there had to be a better way. So, I built the tool I always wished existed.
Glove Genie is the first web app from Stitch Sorcerer, created to help knitters of all levels conjure clean, accurate glove patterns in minutes, whether you’re making gloves to match a favourite yarn, creating for personal projects, or preparing patterns for sale.
Most importantly, I want to empower more people, especially young people, to discover the joy of knitting. Knitting builds real skills, confidence, and creativity, offering more than just scrolling on a phone. It’s social, rewarding, therapeutic, and fun, and I want to spread that magic as widely as possible.
